Two filmmakers passionate about storytelling were connected with the love for community and identity.

Starting Women in Film Emirates in 2017 (now MISHKA Community) that helped the network of filmmaking professionals to connect; from this, MISHKA was born.

What started as a writers room determined to prove that new ideas have a place in the filmmaking industry is now an operating company out of Abu Dhabi that puts our values at the core of everything we do.

We believe the essence of a great film is a great story, at MISHKA we are dedicated to crafting, developing, and writing cinematic scripts for TV, Film, and Commercials.

RAIHANA AL HASHMI

Writer, Producer, & Director

Raihana Alhashmi is an Emirati filmmaker and Marketer. She worked on various creative projects focusing on film, art, and is also a VO artists. Along with Malak she has initiated the "Women In Film Emirates” community to encourage the making of films by women, which later on developed to be Mishka.

MALAK MANSOURA

Writer, Producer, & Director

Malak Mansoura is a Palestinian writer, director, and creative producer who's on a mission to spark inspiration and change with her storytelling talents through the camera lens. Prior to founding Mishka with her partner Raihana, Malak has been creating her own projects, along with other commercials and shows.

ABDULAZIZ AlMANNAEI

Film Director & Writer

Abdulaziz Almannaei is a content specialist with experience in both the commercial and entertainment sectors. His passion is in screenwriting and has attended several industry-focused workshops over the years. He graduated from Murdoch University with Bachelor's in Media and his first short film, Goldfish, screened in the 2017 edition of Dubai International Film Festival.

ZAHRA MIRZA

Writer

Zahra Mirza got her start in film and television by attending USC’s acclaimed film school, graduating with an MFA in Writing for Screen & Television. Her instructors included Oscar and BAFTA winning writers and directors. From there, she consulted on scripts for two TV shows, Tyrant Season 3 on FX and The State on NatGeo, worked in the factual entertainment department for Image Nation Abu Dhabi, worked as a Script Consultant on Pakistani series, Churails (Zee5), and acted as the showrunner for Mishka Stories’ first writers room.

Malak and Raihana initiated Women In Film Emirates (WIFAE) in 2017. It was a platform to connect, be supported and thrive through monthly meetings for filmmakers in the UAE. Now it's called- Mishka Community.
